Mr. Gerard J. Unehan

Mr. Gerard Linehan has been an integral part of the Randolph High School community for more
than nine years. As an interim principal at Randolph High School in 1995, he displayed leadership
qualities that helped him become the housemaster in 1997. In August of 1998, he was appointed
principal of his beloved high school. Prior to coming to Randolph High School, he had been a social
studies teacher and hockey coach at Oliver Ames High School in Eastoa

Students frequently sought Mr. Linehan for advice or aid. His work exceeded the boundaries
of principal for he was a mentor and a friend to any of us who had the pleasure of knowing him
His sense of humor was comforting, yet never disguised his true compassion for the daily tasks ahead
of him. In the nine years of his service at Randolph High School, Mr. Linehan has always tended to
the needs of his fellow faculty members. He is loyal to the idea of hard work and based his life
on improving others, with no exception, in the Randolph School system

We'd Ike to thank Mr. Linehan for the dedication and service he has given us over the past
four years. His presence here has assisted the Class of 2005 to reach for the stars, to try harder,
and to do good in this world. His charismatic smile has warmed the hearts of the many students
and faculty in a way that has affected us all, one way or another.

We are honored that such a wonderful man could enter our lives and shape our futures that
hold so much promise and worth. Mr. Linehan has reeled students from the colorless screen into
the bright new stage that life holds ahead of us. We thank you, Mr. Linehan for your constant
presence in our lives and wish you the very best You truly are a superstar.

Mr. Robert A. Johnson, Principal

June, 200=

To the Class of 2005,

Congratulations! You have endured large group studies, user fees, and
the end of traditional senior homerooms. You have survived the
challenge of the MCAS tests, met all of our graduation requirements
and experienced the retirement of many beloved faculty members.
Nonetheless, your hard work, commitment and determination have
resulted in your reaching an important individual milestone - the
reception of your diploma. You made it!

As you reflect on your years at Randolph High School, consider the
words of American poet and essayist, Ralph Waldo Emerson who wrote
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared
to what lies within us." Your accomplishments have shown that you
have what it takes within each of you to become successful, productive
contributors to our contemporary society.

Personally, I will always have a special fondness for the Class of 2005,
the first graduation class of my tenure as principal.

Best of luck and much happiness in all you do. Fie great!

Mr. Stephen F. Zawatski, Vice Principal

June, 20

To the Class of 2005,

Congratulations! You have successfully completed your high school education '
and earned that all important diploma. This accomplishment enables you to
open avenues to successful college degrees, careers, and countless opportunities
for each and every one of you.

You high school diploma, in most cases, not only reflects your diligence and hard
work, but it also shows the assistance, support, and sacrifices of family members
during these past four years. Without their help, reaching the goal of graduation
may have been more difficult.

It is now time to put the diploma to work for you. Yes, you have successfully
reached one plateau but I would encourage you not to stop there. Examine all
opportunities carefully. Pursue your dreams in spite of the obstacles you may
encounter. With this determination, I am confident you will attain happiness and

Finally, it has been my distinct privilege to have served many of you as both your
middle school principal and high school vice principal. I am proud of your
accomplishments and I know the education you received in the Randolph Public
Schools will provide the foundation for the success you deserve.

Good luck!

June, 2005

To the Class of 2005,

Since the beginning of my time at RHS, I have been impressed with your
collective spirit-from the first pep rally to the wonderful Winter Concert
performance. With the help and support of your families and teachers
and because of your hard work during that last few years, you have
grown into mature, educated young adults, each with boundless oppor-
tunities ahead of you.

Although this is an exciting time, the end of your high school career can
bring mixed emotions. You leave RHS with plans to attend college, to
practice a trade, to join the armed services, or to begin a personal
journey of another kind. Wherever your paths take you, remember that
good-byes are not final between good friends and that you can never be
too old to learn something new.

Thanks for an fantastic year. I have enjoyed working with you and 1
wish you success and happiness in all your endeavors.

Best wishes!

The GSA strives to celebrate diversity, to defuse

homophobia, and to break down the walls of intolerance

and prejudice by educating the students of RHS on gay,

lesbian, and bisexual issues. Although membership is

strictly confidential, over the years the GSA has increased

its visibility within the school. The GSA meets once a

week and welcomes students of every sexual orientation.

The Literary Magazine seeks to encourage and publish

original voices from RHS in poetry, short fiction, and

prose. The goal of the Literary Magazine is to publish one

or two compilations of student writing per year and to

further develop the writing craft of regular members.

Young writers are encouraged to develop their strengths

and explore new types of writing with which they may be

less familiar.

The RHS Math Team competes in the Southeastern

The goal of the Mock Trial Team is to assist students in

developing their critical thinking skills, their

understanding of the judicial process, and their ability to

present themselves in a public and competent manner.

The program places students in a simulated courtroom

hypothetical case. The team practices for hours all Fall in

The Randolph High School band and chorus have been

recognized by many music programs and have won many

festivals over the years. They have been recognized in this

school as amazingly talented young people who love to

make music

Scholarship, leadership, service, and character are the four

pillars of the NHS. The NHS conducts monthly service

projects to benefit the school and local communities. One

of its major contributions is the recycling program

conducted weekly within Randolph High School. Other

projects include volunteering at the Randolph Halloween

Parade, and the Rotary Club's Breakfast with Santa. The

program produced for the induction ceremony in May

summarizes these events.

The mission of the Students Against Destructive Decisions
is to provide students with the best possible tools for
prevention and intervention of destructive decision-
making regarding drug and alcohol use and driving
under the influence. S.A.D.D. members sign a contract to
best communicate with others the dangers of these
potentially destructive decisions.

The Student Academic Leadership Society is composed of I

freshmen and sophomores who were members of the

National Junior Honor Society. The members develop

their leadership skills through their various activities

designed to help the school and the community. The

organization's mission is to provide its members with the

necessary experience to meet the criteria in the National

Honor Society.

The goal of the Tomorrow's Teacher Club is to prepare

students who want to become teachers after college. These

students are intelligent and dedicated to the profession and

realize the hard work that goes into teaching. This club

allows us to see the young, vibrant students who are eager

to become teachers. They are influenced by the Randolph

High School teachers and want to make a difference in

peoples lives.

The Oracle, or Randolph High School's yearbook, is a treasured

keepsake to all who buy it. To make a yearbook requires much

hard work and a dedicated staff. The staff is divided into two

parts: The Literary Staff and the Business Staff. The Literary

Staff works countless hours laying out pages, taking

photographs, and meeting deadlines. Lhe Business Staff is

responsible for collecting advertisements, collecting yearbook

payments, and meeting all financial deadlines the yearbook has.

All together, to work on the Oracle requires much

. responsibility, and time.

Class of 2005,

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by
every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the
thing you think you cannot do." Our graduating class of triumphed over all the
challenges that life throws our way and we have sweated, cried, and laughed be-
cause of it.

Take this yearbook as a token in time to reflect on the crazy years of high school
such as the time when the boys cross dressed during Freak Week or when we were
busy preparing for a play or performance that never seem to meet our expectations
but was always worth it in the end.

It will be a bitter-sweet ending when it is time to say good-bye but the memories
made here at Randolph High School will not be forgotten. Take with you the
strength, courage, and confidence learned here at RHS to be successful in all your
future endeavors. Thank you class of 2005, 1 love you.

Christina Tan, Layout Editor

Class of 2005,

As each day passes we create new memories by meeting new people, trying new
things, and rekindling old friendships. It is by these memories that our high school
years will be remembered. Even through the toughest times when you felt under
the heat of the spotlight, we perservered and conquered our fear of failure, and
achieved our goal of success.

Take what you have accomplished in your time at Randolph High School and use
it to the best of your ability and never forget those who helped you reach those
accomplishments. Always use this book as a momentum of the smilies, the tears,
the triumphs, and even the failures. When in search of inspiration remember to
look back on the days past and live for the moment and enjoy each and every one.

Thank you to the class of 2005 for making every moment worthwile. Your impact
on my life and education is greatly appreciated. I wish you the greatest of success
in your future endeavors and will certainly miss my days here at Randolph High

If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

But make allowance for their doubting too:

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,

Or being hated don't give way to hating,

And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream — and not make dreams your master;

If you can think — and not make thoughts your aim,

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

And treat those two imposters just the same:

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,

And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-loss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings,

And never breath a word about your loss:

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew

To serve your turn long after they are gone,

And so hold on when there is nothing in you

Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virture,

Or walk with Kings — nor lose the common touch,

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,

If all men count with you, but none too much:

If you can fill the unforgiving minute

With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,

And — which is more — you'll be a Man, my son!
